Lake Minnewanka, Banff National Park, 1500m
Lake Minnewanka is a huge lake (at least by glacial lake standards) in Banff National Park. It is 21km long, because it is so large it has a large specific heat and it takes forever to heat up making it extremely cold. I have not swam here and I don’t think it would be a good idea. I dipped my feet in once and they became very cold very fast. It is a beautiful lake though and it can be skated on in the winter.
