Mount Ball, Kootenay National Park, 3311m

Mount Ball is a 3311m mountain in Kootenay National Park. It is the second highest mountain in the park after Mount Vaux. The classic scrambling route up Mount Ball is class 3, and often considered horrific. This is because the access is from Haffner Creek which has horrible deadfall. Do I recommend Mount Ball? Absolutely! Despite the horrible process of getting to the top, once you are there you are treated with amazing views which I consider the best that I have ever seen. I hope to be able to convince myself to go there again some day, maybe next time as a backpacking trip so there will be more rest.
