Mount Rae is a 3218m mountain that marks the top of the Misty Range in Kananaskis Country, it is actually the fourth highest mountain in Kananaskis Country. Despite its height there is less than 1100 vertical meters to the summit since the trail starts at Highwood Pass which itself is sitting at about 2200m. Mount Rae is a popular scramble and it is somewhere between class 3 to 5 depending on which route you go up. Take caution while ascending to the ridge, there can be very loose rock and/or very hard snow. Kayla and I had a close call on this mountain and it wasn’t while we were deciding to go up the class 5 pinnacle.
